Areas of Focus

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life. 

 

Older Women

Women have other support needs as they age.  Women need outlets to meet their specific needs.  Whether you are struggling with addiction or mental health, I am here to help in tailoring a treatment plan to meet your individual needs, help you building new skills, live life more in balance.

 

Online Services

Currently Indigo Hickory is seeing patients in a telehealth/video format.  Take part in healing form the comfort of your own home.  Too busy to travel from your location to a provide, this format allows flexibility in your schedule by taking out the time it takes to travel to provider office.

Treatment Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is focused on changing ineffective and negative coping and behavioral patterns of individuals. CBT also is focused on calming the body and the mind to bring forth positive behavioral changes.  It also works to create coping skills for individuals to interrupt negative thoughts and behaviors.  CBT is an integral approach in treating anxiety, depression, and substance use concerns to name a few.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI helps individuals find motivation to make a positive behavior change. It is a more client-centered focus and can be used with individuals who might be more resistant to change.  MI creates a partnership and helps to draw out an individual's ideas that help elicit change.  

 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is similar to CBT as it helps individuals focus on the present and move forward from feelings of being overwhelmed and difficult emotions.  The goals of ACT is to diffuse negative emotions while reshaping your thought process.  It can be effective in working with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.

 

Eastern Approaches: SOUND

The use of sound therapy has been used across the times.  The idea behind sound therapy is every part of your body creates a vibration.  This vibration resonates a certain way.  When this vibration is out of balance, other things can manifest and cause grief.  Sound therapy can reset the vibration and restore peace and harmony. Currently, sound is used via a Tibetan Singing Bowl to help ground patients during sessions.

Eastern Approaches: CRYSTALS

Crystals also have their own vibration and resonate at the same pitch as the human body.  Due to this, crystals can make you feel at ease while holding them.  They can also restore balance to your body.  Currently not in use via telehealth.
